Classic novus is played with two teams (usually two players on each team, but it can also be one-on-one), and each player has one cue stick with which they try to control the pucks and score goals. The playing field is divided into several zones, and the goals are located at both ends of the field. Players must avoid sliding pucks into their own goal while attempting to hit the pucks into the opponent's goal.
